licensing the quietsleep domain name...
The Quietsleep® brand name is well known on the web. Quietsleep.com has been in existence since 1995 and returns on the first page of Google search results for most search terms relating to dentistry's involvement in sleep medicine. The Quietsleep® name is a registered trademark and cannot be used for Web site or practice name related to dental sleep medicine without permission.
We have been asked many times to grant permission to use the name within the context of a domain for dental sleep medicine practices. In response to this demand Quietsleep® Creative is launching a branding license for practices that would prefer to affiliate with a well known online brand for marketing purposes.
The program is simple:
- License to use the Quietsleep® name as part of a domain, e.g. quietsleepnashua.com
- License will be granted to only one participant per town (large cities may have multiple licensees determined by population, e.g quietsleepsoho.com, quietsleepharlem.com)
- Preferential listing at Quietsleep.com right after Priority Listings with designation as a Quietsleep® Licensee
- Monthly fee includes:
Initial screening and set up fee $275 (includes license of quietsleep domain name for your community, set up of site on server and screening process). Monthly fee $75 USD. No contract required. Monthly fee will be charged to credit card as a recurring charge automatically. Cancelation of service requires 30 day written notice.( Initial screening and set up fee cannot be refunded. Cancelation of service will require that domain name be surrendered and removed from stationery, marketing etc. )
Sound good? It is but there are some restrictions:
Because Quietsleep® has to maintain its integrity as a valuable resource for the public, licensees will be prescreened according to the following:
- All those who are Board certified by the American Board of Dental
Sleep Medicine (ABDSM) will be accepted as licensees automatically
- To qualify simply send your contact information and a copy of your ABDSM certificate to the address below or, for a quicker response, fax to 212.570.1459
- All others would have to be prescreened
and require the following:
- Letters of recommendation from at least 5 patients who have been treated with oral appliance therapy in your office
- Letter of recommendation by a sleep physician (specialist)
- Letter stating that the you have spent at least one night observing in a certifed sleep lab
- Proof of at least 16 hours of continuing education dedicated to dental sleep medicine per year or attendance at the AADSM or other recognized sleep organization meeting.
- Annual renewal will require separate proof of ongoing continuing
education
